Oh, I have a lot of weird names in my family tree (although not all are direct lines) ...
Danch, Delilah, Solomon, Dangerfield, Lenda, Arkless, Methuselah, Cinderella, Job, Urania, Cinamenta, Swalley/Swayley, Algar, Moses, Wythan, Lemitania, Levi, Lovinia, Cornelius, Sylvanus, Trailey, Woodlock, Obediah, Adolphus .... and that's not getting into the nick names they gave each other....
I always thought I'd never hear odder names than these but I suppose it's all to do with perspective because I married a Spaniard and honestly, they aren't all called Pedro or Manuel. The Spanish have some of the oddest names I've ever heard. One interesting point though for those who mentioned ancestors with both a male and a female name ... that's quite common in Spain but normally with Jose Maria or Maria Jose - you can get the connection, yes? That's right. Joseph-Mary or Mary-Joseph. Perhaps that's more understandable in a catholic country though..
A while ago I did a family tree for a friend of mine (who comes from gypsies as well) and she had these names in hers....
Nelson, Moses, Solomon, Amalain, Shadrack, Trainett, Geldrey, Keziah, Sidnull, Ambrose and one called Daniel Newyear.
At least no one can claim these names are boring!
