Prison Records in 1881 were would i find them?
« on: Sunday 11 June 06 15:07 BST (UK) »
Hi All

My naughty G Grandad George Henry  Richards is a prisoner at Her Majestys Prison Warwick in 1881.

He is back with his family in 1891 and is a whip thong maker.

Anyone any idea if prison records were kept and if so where could i access them?  I would love to know what he did to get in there!

Cheers
Jan

Jan did you end up finding the prison records for your greatgrandfather as they are on FindMyPast.
You and I would be distant cousins.  His grandfather Wm Richards born 1819 is a brother of my 2x greatgrandmother.  I hardly ever think to check on rootschat these days as too busy with dna matching.
