Edward Lambert HAYWARD (1811-1876)
William HAYWARD (1824-1902)

my ggg grandfather referred to them as "uncle"

I have looked at what I have re Haywards (B) 1807 to 1817 in Sothwark none only in Rotherhithe.  I have Haywards (B) in Southwark area 1870 at St. Saviour and St. Olaves but not  with names Edward and William. My haywards were in the leather trade. 1841 living at Cook buildings, Clarance St. (St. George the Marty) Southwark. So NO connection, perhaps a distant relation?
My Lamberts come from Lincolnshire. early 1800s.   Ann
