Hi
Wow this is a blast from the past!
His name was John Steavenson and he died 14th April 1895, family lore says he died seal hunting
In 1891 he was lodging on Johnson Street, Victoria City, aged 65 and described as a gentleman
His probate states he was of Victoria, British Colombia. He left about £1500 but was estranged from his family so there may not be a headstone. I said I had details of the cemetery and plot but can't find them now

Thanks for any information you can provide
