I am having real trouble sending a message even with all the help.

I have an old bible which belonged to a William Gammage - Ravensthorpe, Northampton.  I would love to get this back to it's rightful family and when I looked at the name RootsChat came up.  How can I get this message to the people who have put William Gammage on RootChat?

To send a personal message you will have to make two, possibly three posts to enable the facility. By replying to this it will help. To actually send the message, click on the green scroll under the person's name/avatar.



Or you could reply directly on the thread.

Thank you Pels, still not sure what I'm doing, wanted to send details to Carol02 as she appears to have the connection with William Gammage, but it asked for an email, which, ofcourse, I don't have.

Any ideas what I do next as a technaphobe?

I have no idea why you should be asked for an e-mail when trying to send a personal message as Pels has already described.  Carol was online yesterday.

An alternative is to add a reply to her thread about Gammage, which can be found here:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,198629.0.html

She should then see the message as a reply to her posts when she next logs on.  Or if she has notifications turned on, she will know that someone has replied to her post.

Perhaps you would like to try this option?

Hi, pippy17, and welcome.

All you need to do is click on "Forum", at the top, scroll down to the topic you are interested in, and click on the title. You'll then have the option to "Start a new topic". Don't worry if you make a mistake - the Moderators will redirect your question to the correct thread.
