I have recently come across a post of interest to me which is a year old, and would like to contact the poster. However, their last login was some six months ago, so they are unlikely to see either a new post or a PM. Is there any way that RootsChat can act as an intermediary to facilitate an email contact?? Thanks

Sorry, but Rootschat can't contact a member directly on your behalf. If you post on the thread and send PM (members need 3 posts for using PM system) then it's just a matter of waiting.

OK, thanks Aghadowey. Unfortunately my poster has only two posts, so I can't send PM. Looks like I've come to a deadend. Maybe facilitating direct contact is something RootsChat could think about for the future.

At times you do only need two posts for some reason. I see the person you wish to contact already has the green scroll activated below their name :

Click on the scroll, you may be able to send them a message, no harm in trying !

Do you mean a PM (personal message)? Members usually need 2/3 posts before they can use PM system so try again an see if it works.

I am new.  I received a Personal Message and I cannot find any place to respond to it.  I went onto Chatterbox and someone there sent a message to the person I wanted to contact.  I have received a message from them but I can't respond to it.  Help
