I have received a reply to a post...via email, and have logged in etc, and can read the post, but cannot find a way to reply to the person who sent me the post; any ideas as to how I do taht

Do you mean that you can't reply on the topic, or that you can't send a PM ?

The recipient (original poster) may need 3 posts before s/he can use the PM system.

I am very new just a couple of days.  I have found a person willing to do a look up in Bristol but I can't see how to contact her. There is no reply button so I am stuck. I might be missing the point so would appreciate any help.

Offers are usually locke, as too many replies about different people makes the topics hard to read later.  Just make a request on the Gloucestershire Requests board, and the "offerer" (or other members who can also help) will see it there.
