Just spoke to a relative who lived in Maryhill for most of his life.

Greendoor gave you the correct names  of the cemeteries which are the ones used by the 'Maryhill folk'.

Lambhill was used by Protestants etc. St Kentigens by Roman catholics (no non RC's were allowed to be intered there even as late as the 1940's. Its different now).  So that should hopefully cut out one cemetery for you.

All the best

Hi Jamy2,

If one of them is buried in Cadder, you should definitely check whereabouts before you go .. that cemetery is enormous, you could spend 2 days there alone.

This is the voice of experience, who didn't check before she went  ::), spent hours there, didn't find anyone and then only by coincidence noticed a 2G Aunt just because her stone was next to where I'd parked....

regards,

Lindsay

The cemetery is simply called Cadder and now comes under East Dunbartonshire rather than Glasgow.

"phone 0141 574 5508 for cemetery enquiries, or email
cemeteriesATeastdunbarton.gov.uk "  - replace AT

From their website, there are two cemeteries at Cadder, Cadder Churchyard (which is closed) and Cadder Cemetery itself.  This is on Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs - I think it took me about 45 mins to drive there from the centre of Glasgow.

Thanks for the info.   I contacted the e-mail address you gave me and did get a reply.  They could not find anyone by that name - so guess I can eliminate that church from my search.
We leave the USA on Aug. 2nd.   Still have not come up with a real possibility.
Thought I would try to check into Sighthill Cemetery on Springburn Rd.   Isn't that near Lenzie and Maryhill??

Thanks for your help.

Jim

Hi Jamy2, sorry I have no idea ... I have pm'd Anne APAnderson on RC, she is the greatest on cemeteries and gravestones, she might know where it is.
