Hi kcloscar

They are there in Ardrossan - at least Stanley and Ella are!

Key in M*c*Gil* with their names and add +/- 2 years.

Good hunting

Helo there
I think you are not using wildcards in your searches on scotlandspeople.
I found Douglas right away by looking for births in Ardrossan between 1898 and 1900.
The search facility needs to have the exact spelling as was recoded key in. To get round that you can use the '*' asterisk symbol to represent a letter or letters so I keyed in M*c*Gil* which got round the problem of 'Mc' or 'Mac' as the spelling. If the Mac was separated from the rest of the name the second* took care of that. Sometimes Gill can be spelt with only one 'l' so the last asterisk took care of that possibility.
(The search engine will ignore the asterisk if it is not relevant)

Try again on scotlandspeople but read their guidance on how to get the most out of your searches. It will save you lots of credits.
e.g. On the OPR Just key in a surname + parent(s) fore names plus the span of years will bring up the name of every child recorded as being born to that couple.
Good luck this time
