  I am trying to research my Grandfather and great grandfather with the problem of they were both called
                   HENRY and the name Price don't help 
 also hard to find out birth place as no family left to help !!

That's tough. Where did they live? Try to work out possible birth years.

I only knew the town that my grandfather lived in so I trawled the 1891 census street by street until I found him.

As Hackstaple says you need a starting point such as the area he was from or an approx. year of his birth, death or marriage. You can then look for Henry Price on FreeBMD and might make a connection

You have Henry Price's d.o.b. Have you obtained a copy of his birth certificate? That is for starters.
Sorry, who is the Harry Price [father] - is that Henry also or is that Henry's son?

Hi horse...you had already got one vital ingrediant an actual birthdate some of us dont have that advantage. I used 1837 online for reg. no this shows your Henry as being born GLOUCESTER 6a 486 to obtain his cert. mothers maiden name Stokes born OCT quarter 1916 so that is def.  your man ,wasnt sure if he was their first born but got lucky anyway and 1837 again shows HARRY PRICE married GLOUCESTER JAN-MAR quarter1914 brides maiden name STOKES 6a458 for their marriage cert and of course that will give you their fathers etc.etc....good luck cheryle.f
