Slow speed on RC

Hi

Is RootsChat on a "go slow" just at the moment?

It's taking well over 60 secs to refresh any screen!

All other sites are working fine - no slow down

Is it me or "them" 

Suggestions please!

Long time, no speak...

How are you?

This slow speed is so frustrating. I think I will have to log out, shut down and re boot 

The lady in the photo was my great great grandmother and her youngest daughter - Scotland early 1850's - until someone here commented that it possibly isn't that old - so now I'm not sure who they are.

Hi All,

this happens now and again, when too many people are trying to access RootsChat. 
The server automatically limits access, so that it can cope with the demand.

At the worst, you will get a screen coming up saying,

RootsChat is incredibly busy at the moment, please try again later

plus a bit of reading matter.

It's the price we pay, for being so popular

I have re booted and it's a small bit better (only 40 secs to refresh  )

I will just keep trying until everyone else goes to bed/home

Is this a very recent problem for you, or just today?

I'm also wondering why you are refreshing, as this will mean that every image (buttons, logo etc) will have to be reloaded each time that you do it. To see the latest postings you can just press the "home" button or even the link on the top of whichever board you are in.

Hi Trystan,

It's only started happening this evening (oz time). It was fine earlier today.

Actually "refresh" was possible incorrect terminology. After writing a reply and hitting POST - it took over 4 minutes for my message to finally display and it's getting worse.

Think I will just call it a night 

BUT - I'll be back....

I have had the same problem over the last few days. Usually when I hit ' add reply' the empty box comes up straight away. At the moment there is a delay. Very frustrating

It's been really slow at night ( yours !!  ) when theres less than 90 on ...... ! for about a week now - it goes slow ... feels like it's freezing up - then all of a sudden it clears and is fine for a while - then the process starts again !!
