He was born in Horton Bradford and was living in  St Stephens Road, Bowling in 1881

I am hoping for more information on his parents so that I can go one more generation back.

Hi Jill,

From the LDS site it looks as if his mother could have been Ellen Fox, married John Jowett on 18th June 1833 at Bradford Parish Church.   Batch No. M107652.

You may already know this.   If not, hope it helps.

Thanks Jill
I do have the information from the LDS for the marriage of John JOWETT and Ellen FOX.
If I can find them in a census then I might be able to go one generation furthur back. There were a lot of John JOWETTs in Bradford so the search is not an easy one.

I appreciate anything you think might be of help.
Wish our JOWETTs were related then we could help each other.

Yes Jill, wouldn't it be great!   I've got a John as well but he drifted Shipley way!  Good luck!

I wonder if anyone ever found a connection to the Jowett's of  Calverley and Eccleshill?    My great great grandfather William Hutton married Mary Jowett in Otley in 1834.    However William lived and owned land in Moorside Road, Eccleshill.      The plan attached to the land deeds shows that an Atkinson Jowett Esq was on the very next plot of land.    I see that there is a family tree on Mundia for a James Atkinson Jowett of Calverley 1818 to 1886, but Windows won't open it - returns a message that the site may be unsound.
