Rhos Uchaf Hall, Llanfynydd, Flintshire

Was  the hall always known as Rhos Uchaf, I can find no mention of the place at all in the papers, strange as it seems such a splendid place.
Also struggling to find in the census records, but really I don`t know what parish it would be in.

Hi, My gr/gr/gr Grandfather is Ishmael Griffiths The information I have says he married a Sarah Williams, but I'm not sure how reliable this is.
Do you have anymore information about the his relations?

I've just started on the griffiths side of my family too - the shoemakers from Mold
My connection is Peter Griffiths 1809 son of William Griffiths 1775.
He married Arabella and is my Great Grandad
Would welcome any help any of u can offer thanks

My Great Grand Uncle is Alfred Owen Edwards who I believe is mentions on the War Memorial which is placed on the wall as mentioned in the original post - did anybody find the history re why the memorial was placed there?

Hi, I know it's a long time since this post has been in use, but just wanted to confirm I am related also through Ishmael Griffiths, whose son Thomas married Harriet Matthias, their daughter Sarah married  George Smallwood. The Smallwood's were quite a wealthy family at one time, owning several messuages in Cymau, two brother's built Cymau chapel and also donated money to help build the Ffrith chapel. Have I opened a can of worms???

I know this is an old discussion but I came across it while looking for information on the airfield that once was at Rhos Uchaf near Treuddyn and Llanfynydd. I am a Smallwood and I decend from the Smallwood's of Cymau. My great grandfather was a famous (apparently) chapel minister in the Cymau. My grandfather was a farmer from Nercwys and my father was a quarryman and we lived in Llanarmono yn Ial.
