« on: Friday 26 May 06 14:54 BST (UK) »
???  I am trying to find Elizabeth who married George Riley Wright in 1959 in Cotmanhay, Derbyshire.  If anyone can help with information on her and her family I would be most grateful.  Thanks, Jane.

:)Dear Suz,

Thanks so much for your help, this part of my family is very difficult to trace.  I found the marriage on the IGI and Elizabeth under her father's name, but as her mother's maiden name was Trueman, I wonder is she had her before getting married.  I found an Elizabeth Trueman born in June 1840 and  Elizabeth's parents got married in December of the same year - but I also found Elizabeth Hardy three times from 1839 to 1841 too!! Hence I will have to find someone who has parish records so that I can confirm the above.  Your information was of great help and even if the Trueman family you found is the wrong one they may still be connected being that they are Truemans!  It was very kind of you to go to so much trouble.  Jane

maybe a red herring but
1861
one of the Truman daughters (Eliza) is living with them and is married to Eli Sisson

on FreeBMd same page as Elizabeths marriage to George Riley Wright there is Henry Sisson - so thought may be a Sisson connection somewhere??

If you look on Heanor History site -there is a chat area with a family history section. There is quite a lot of Hardy information- and people with knowledge of the area (Shipley)

 :)Dear Suz,

The two Elizabeths really bothered me so I went on the IGI again and in the batch numbers I typed in Elizabeth Trueman and found her married in the same area as Elizabeth Hardy and they were both married within a few days of each other, only Elizabeth Trueman married Henry Sisson!! So I now know that the Elizabeth married to George Riley Wright is really mine.  Thanks for checking further and yes I have also been checking on the William Hardy you mention.  I found another William Hardy in Bath Street, Ilkeston and thought he was the right one, but today on the IGI I found him with a different father (if the information was correct as it wasn't from any records) so it certainly does look like the William you found is my William too!  It put me off with his birthplace written as Shipleywood instead of Shipley, but as there are so many mistakes even on the original documents, I have decided that with Elizabeth next door, he must be her brother.  I also have seen a Sisson mentioned and wondered if there is a connection, I will have to check on that too!  I'll definitely try the Heanor History site to see if I can glean anything off it.  Thanks so much, you have been a great help.  Jane
