Hi Alison

There are a lot of 1841 townships missing from the census and Malpas is one of them.

Hello Alison

This might not be the family you seek.............but it certainly looks to be the right "family" judging by the names

1841
TILSTON, CHESHIRE
RANDLE HOPLEY  81  FARMER   YES
MARGARET   "       79  WIFE       YES
THOMAS       "       55 SON           "
ANN              "       48 WIFE         "
RICHARD      "        16 SON          "
JANE             "        14 DAUR        "
FRANCES      "         8     "             "
CHARLES      "         6  SON           "
-----------------
*the 1841 is known for not giving relationships............this enumerator never read the script!

*Beware of Ann's.............more often than not they are Mary Ann's and like to call themselves Mary one year and Ann the next! ..........just to make life easy

*Their are 35 Hopley's in Malpas in 1841...........unfortunately no James, their is a Jos married? to a Mary...........but only have two children....Charles aged 2 and George aged 4 months

Regards
Bryant
Researching names BRYANT (Camberwell), PASTERFIELD (Essex and all), RAY (Holborn/Islington areas back to Brentford), POWELL (Glouc & beyond?)
Fletcher (Glouc into Warwickshie into Lancs?), BUCKLEY (Chatham area), Watson (Chatham area).
