Hi Craftysarah,

I have this information, but cannot verify it. There is a lady in California who is related to Richard and I have been trying to verify her information for her, so far to no avail.  There doesn't seem to be any trace - censuswise - since 1841.  We Woosnams are a slippery lot!

Judging by my golf swing there is not the remotest chance I am related to Ian. But has anyone come accross Jane Woosnam b.1816 (Llandinam I think) and d. Bedwellty, Mon. 1893 (buried at St Sennan Burial Ground). She married John Holliday at Llandinam in 1832.
Jane was a midwife with a mother named Ann (b. 1773) but I have no other info on her parents.

Hi all
I live in Llandinam and have do all my life so has many of my ancestors. I can tell you, if you are a Woosnam and you descend from Llandinam you are 100% related to Ian Woosnam.
The Woosnam's go back to a least to the 1600's in Llandinam. So congratulation not only are you related to one of the sporting greats but you descend from the greatest place in the world, Llandinam.

Kind regards
