Well ... I don't know
If you order one of his marriage certs, it would at least give you his father's name and occupation.
Have just found him in 1851 (searching for a William, any surname, born Eldersfield living in Staunton). His wife is down as born somewhere in Worcestershire so that's contradicting my earlier theory
However it's not necessarily true, as they seem to have married in Herefordshire

There are several *possible* Annett families in 1841 in Herefordshire, with sons William (age little out)...

Edith Fanny was registered in Newent June 1880. Why didn't you say you had her birth cert?
What's the mother's name on it?

I am struggling to find this family in 1891.
I see Phoebe dies in 1910, Newent registration district.
In 1901, I have finally found them at Staunton, RG13/2422 131 12
(Edith being in service)

Hi, I've been reading the previous posts here and realised that you are talking about a family that I have done a little research on!
I can tell you that Edith Fanny was one of 9 children born to William Annotts and Phoebe. I haven't yet determined her surname but I think that they were married around 1862 so I would agree with the marriage that you guys have already found. Would you like me to post everthing that I have?
Joanne
p.s. Moses is William's brother! their father is called William, his father is called Moses!
