How do I search for just the name Wicks ?   When I put Wicks down I get all answers including Warwickshire - by far the majority and similarly the name Burton with all the Burton on Trent's turning up ?

I've come to the conclusion there's no answer to this.

Which makes the search facility virtually useless.

Hello goff,

Well yes, the search facility isn't much help for some names but on the other hand we're not paying anything for Rootschat, for all the time spent keeping the site going and for all the costs involved.

If you have a more unusual name, it's fine, and you can always use the Surname Interests Table for the common ones and ones that bring up loads of other hits - try searching for the Wiltshire family on the search facility!
