NEEDLES

Have recently discovered a case  of NEEDLES in my Tadmarton Oxfordshire roots! Does anyone have a similar family? The mother was from Ireland (Londonderry) and the father was a soldier not much to go on I'm afraid

My partner has recently discovered that his(we're assuming)step-g/g father was George B Needle,his family mostly seem to hale from Banbury in Oxfordshire.....any luck with yours since you posted this?

Hi, yes we have got some NEEDLE data but sadly not the Irish MotherElizabeth. Sadly  I haven't got a George but Banbury is the right area for the family.

I have found several Georges this afternoon but wonder if yours is the one born  about 1854  son of David and Elizabeth . David (1825) was a malster as was his father Richard b1786-1791 Richard was married to  a Mary they were all from Bloxham and I have not connected any of them to my line.
George B 1854 was in Leamington Spa in 1901 with a son George T born abt 1877

Let me know if this is the right line and i'll take it further if possible

Sorry for the tardy reply,the george b needle is the one!

The "son" is in fact George Taylor,his brother Percy Taylor (My partners g/father)was living with George B Needles brother Timothy in the 1891 census(in Banbury) and is down as a nephew.....From what we can gather(this line is the nightmare btw lol)......A Mary Taylor married George Branson Needle in 1886 in Warwickshire,she died in 1887....we assume he kept Mary's children(or at least George,while percy may have lived with Timothy permanently)......We found George B Needle as Percy listed his father as "George Branson Taylor" on his marriage cert in 1911......no such person exists......and we stumbled on the needle family(mainly because of the name Branson  ).....we have the censuses of the Needle family George B,Timothy etc in Banbury as children........we're a bit stumped to be fair,as no matter what we do we can't go any further back with Percy's father.....Mary Taylor being FAR too common a name.

Hi this is bugging me today if I am reading your data correctly George should be George Taylor b Dec qtr 1876 Warwick 6d 617 and Percy b Dec 1879 Warwick 6d 638 so why can't I find them in 1881/ have you found them? Have you got Percy's birth certificate that should tell you his parents names
Warwick registration district covers both Kenilworth and Leamington so these BMD entries look good

non catholic marriages in Ireland were recorded from 1 April 1845 and Catholics from 1 January 1864

what years are we talking about re Elizabeth ?
