What a great spot. Come on the Irish, where are you lads ? You get everything here. Good chat, searches et al. Yesterday evening one of the women even offered to hold my hand. The only thing missing is the pint

Hi

I had the same problem getting into the chat room, just a blank screen. UNTIL I changed browsers.  ;D

Firefox works for me but Safari didn't for some reason.  I hope this helps other rootschatters.

Hi and thanks to everyone who greeted me in the Chat Room tonight - Thursday.

My first time and I couldn't type any messages - it wouldn't let me!  I'll have to try again with a different browser.  Maybe it doesn't like Safari.

See you again - I hope.

Hi Shropshire lass

Glad you like the chatroom.  I have not been in for some months due to work and home and family history.  Looking to pop in during weekday evenings so may see you and the regulars from Oz and NZ in there.  I have a few ancestors in Shropshire mainly from Broseley area.  Rowley family and some Jones from Sheinton near Shrewsbury.  No doubt I will end up in Wales at some point!

Cheers

Well just to let everyone know...at least for me, when I first came to rootschat, it threw me straight into the chatroom. I loved it, and didn't get to the forums until now...lol. Thank you all for all your help in my reseach, and all the laughs you have given me. I am now a full time chatter, and researcher.

Since June I have had second thoughts on the Chatroom. It is not great from the Irish point of view. Visits to Libraries, Record Offices, looking at books one has borrowed from the library, chatting about genealogy on one of many Messenger sites including the use of Voice facility, reading and answering emails ,surfing for info - if you research properly and live a life there is very little time left to chatter in a chatroom -  Under the circumstances I look in to see if anyone needs assistance on the Irish boards and leave as soon as possible.

A lot of research is done in the chatroom and since I've been using it, two people have helped me find my, ggggrandparents. I am truly greatful to them. Also, besides the research, it's nice to chat with people from all over the world.
