A lot of research is done in the chatroom and since I've been using it, two people have helped me find my, ggggrandparents. I am truly greatful to them. Also, besides the research, it's nice to chat with people from all over the world.

There are usually one or two first class searchers in the chat room at any given time and most people should get some assistance fairly rapidly. I agree with you gjil, it is pleasant chatting to people from the other side of the world and learning a little about their country.

Many thanks for tips on chat room.  I have been in a few times now and everyone has been lovely and supportive, funny, helpful, and loads of tea and sympathy, when things are going wrong.  I enjoy it immensely.  Newbies like me, please don't feel shy, just laugh along.  cheers Ferndale

Thanks for your reply.  Thought I used to be a good "multi tasker" till I got into the chat room.   Its hard to think, type , keep up, go get a coffee, and have a giggle at the same time, not to mention have a cigi.    Cheers Dale

I am definitely not a proficient multi tasker on the computer, the chat rooms scare the hell out of me  as everythings goes faster than I can keep up with, I get all confused and muddled.

I tried the chatroom for the first time last time. We are in agreement. It was way too fast for me ... or maybe I was way too slow for the chatroom.
