Help to identify Boer War uniforms please
« on: Sunday 09 April 06 16:22 BST (UK) »
Is there a website that shows the uniforms of Boer War regiments, specifically for other ranks?

I have photos of two brothers in their uniforms, which are different. I know that one of them served & died with the East Lancashire Militia. If I could find a picture of the uniforms it might help me put a name to one of the photos.

The photos can be seen at:

Thanks for looking

Ooops!  Cut/paste error.  Try these:

The one who died was John Percival Dixon.  He was in the East Lancashire Regiment.  I have found his grave site details, but don't know if one of these photos could be of him.  Two other brothers, David and William probably also served in the Boer War, but I have no other data at the moment.  The Dixons were from Salford and served in the Manchester Regiment and the Lancashire Fusilier during WW1, but I don't know much about their Boer War activities.
