re hackney
« on: Tuesday 16 May 06 08:20 BST (UK) »
I have an Olive Hilda Webb born april 1906. She is the last child born illigit to a mother who I do not know the name of. I do know the first names of her brother and sisters who were born into the marriage prior to her mother leaving and having Olive with a John Charles Webb. Olive married under the name Webb and John Charles is listed as her father on the marriage certificate. I can not find her birth registration or indeed any family on the 1901 census with siblings Stanley,Hilda,Dorothy and Ivy.or any combination. Can any one suggest anything I my have missed to try and trace Olives mother. I do hope it's not to complicated to understand and infact must be fairly common.Thank you

Hi Vanessa,

FreeBMD gives 100% coverage for births in this time frame.

I can see only 2 Olive Hildas registered in the June quarter 1906 in Middlesex, none of which in Hackney.
Olive Hilda R Bradstreet June quarter 1906 Islington
Olive Hilda W Wood June quarter 1906 Bethnal Green.

I can't find any Stanley Bradstreet registered 1895-1905 in Middlesex. I also like the Olive Wood because of her 3rd 'W' initial. Problem being: There are plenty of Woods registered with the other forenames you mention. so not sure this is really very helpful.

I don't suppose the marriage witnesses give any clues? I see you know the names of her siblings. Would it be possible to try and trace them somehow, in case you knew who they married etc?  :-\

Hi

Just doing some housekeeping on the London and Middlesex boards and going through the oldest posts. Now there are further resources available it gives a chance for old posts to be looked at again to see if the information can be found or the chance for posters to say whether this information has been answered and this topic can be completed. If it can be completed please put completed into the title of this topic and it can be moved to London and Middlesex completed (it is never lost off Rootschat) giving more space for other topics to be looked at again by all of us to see if we can help. If you are still looking for the information perhaps you can now add further details to help others search again for you.

Regards
