HI

According to FreeBMD he was 67 when he died in Sculcoates in 1872.  There is a James MATHISON, aged 65, in Sculcoates on 1871 census who was born in Wooler, Northumberland.

James Mathison was indeed the son in law of George and Mary Waldie.  George and Mary had a son called Archibald Waldie.  Archibald married Martha Stark and had a daughter Margaret Jessie Waldie.   Margaret Jessie Waldie married a George Stephenson and they had several children one of which was my grandfather Jessie Stephenson!
