Scott Tyrie, Aberdour
« on: Monday 15 May 06 18:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find out what happened to Alexander Scott christened 11.02.1799 Kirktown, Tyrie. he had a brother John born 1802 & a sister Elizabeth born 1800. Their parents were Alexander Scott & Christian Pyper.
I can't find anything definite in the 1841 census. However Alexander does not appear in his father's will written in 1840 approx. Alexander Scott is a very common name sadly.
The family lived in Aberdour, Aberdeenshire as well.

I would appreciate any help or info.

Hi Grothenwell

Thanks.

I have since found Alexander's parents were buried in Peathill Cemetary but still no Alexander.

It's okay Sarah, he has since found out that these Scotts are not his ancestors, they are mine though. For anyone interested, Alexander Scott snr, his wives, Christian Pyper & Janet Birnie are buried at Peathill. John & his sister, Elizabeth, are both buried at New Aberdour.  I have no knowledge of the Alexander Scott that sioux was referring to.
