My ancestor John WISHART was born late 1700s, was a member of the Renfrewshire Militia stationed in Edinburgh in 1803-4 and married Margaret Greenlees at Inveresk (Edinburgh) in 1804. They returned to Paisley and raised a family there. We do not know who his parents were. There were at least 3 John WISHARTS in Renfrew at the same time.
I am seeking contact with descendants of any of those John WISHARTs in order to eliminate possibilities.
If any one can shed light on the parentage or has that connection, I would appreciate a comment.
