I have noticed your interest in the Gatley family. I am descended from the Gatley/Gatliffe family of Great Budworth and have been researching my family tree for 28 years.

Gatley/Gatliffe Family - Cheshire

Hello Edgar,

I have just been perusing your message (from quite a few years ago) regarding the Gatley/Gattley/Gatliffe family of Great Budworth, Cheshire.  I am descended from James Gatliffe (who was my great great grandfather) and Ellen Brierly.  James and Ellen were married in Warrington on the 25th April, 1836.  James was born in Grappenhall (which if I am not mistaken comes under the registration district of Great Budworth).  I have details of their children if it is of any interest to you.  If you have any details of the parents of James I would love to know about them to take me one step further back.

Best regards
Helen Harding :)

James was born in Grappenhall (which if I am not mistaken comes under the registration district of Great Budworth).

I have census returns showing the civil parish of Grappenhall coming under the registration district of Runcorn!
