HARRIS in Bristol
« on: Wednesday 10 May 06 20:53 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for some family members, possibly in Bristol during the period from about 1811 until 1840. I understand that these people came back from Newfoundland sometime during that period. Names would/could include Phoebe HARRIS, (head of family), and any or all of the following daughters, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Jane, Helen, Sarah, Harriet and Mary Ann. It is believed that sarah married Joseph Harper and settled in Long Ashton, Somerset in 1841.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Victor,

I was wondering if that is the mother or daughter until I check my own records and see that the daughter was married to a George Durham. Phoebe, the mother, was widowed in 1810, in St John's,  Newfoundland. She returned to the west country, along with her daughters. She was born in 1763 so was only 51 when she remarried this James Gilmore.

Thank you for the info.
