I've been doing some research about the people in Allanton for an exhibition next year. James Guthrie born to Ralph Gotherie [spelling was a very loose affair] in Allanton. Ralph had married Elizabeth Dickson in Hutton 26/5/1784. I found 7 children - John 1785, Jean 1787, James 1789, Ralph 1792, Hanah 1794, Joseph 1798, Ebenezer 1800.
