Hi Coral 1,

Welcome to Rootschat  :D  :D

I see William Sabin was born in Luton, Bedfordshire according to 1891 and Warwick according to 1901.

This is the one match I can see in 1861:
RG9/2225 69 19
Warwick, Warwickshire

Mary Ridgett?, head, wid, 62, Laundress, b. Warwick St Mary's
Sarah Sabin, lodger, wid, 35, Straw Bonnet Maker, b. do
William Sabin, boarder, 1, b. Bedfordshire Luton

John Bull, boarder, unm, 62, Labourer, b. Warwickshire Gaydon

The IGI at www.familysearch.org has a christening at Luton:

WILLIAM SABIN
Christening 6 January 1861   Saint Mary, Luton, Bedford
Father Thomas Sabin, mother Sarah

No other christenings for this couple in the same batch, unfortunately.

John Bowns:

It seems the earlier spelling of his name was Bounds - that's the way I can see it in 1871, 1861 and
1851
HO107/2081 189 20
Blaby, Leicestershire
Chapel Street

Richard Bounds, head, 55, F.W.K*, b. Blaby
Elizth, wife, 56, ditto, b. do.
Jno, son, mar, 20, ditto, b. do.
Eliza, son's wife, mar, 19, ditto, b. do.

F.W.K. stands for Frame Work Knitter, I believe.

Have a look on the IGI for them (surname Bowns) - You will find the children's christenings.

Also the marriage of Richard Bowns to Elizabeth Norton on 7 November 1814 at Blaby.

Thankyou for all your help. At last I am getting somewhere.
William Sabin is my Gt Grandfather. I know he was born in 1861 thats in the family bible, so the age fits.
So his mothers name was Sarah now all i need is his fathers name.
Once again thanks

Once again thanks for the help with the bowns side of my family. You are right about the Frame work Knitter. The whole family is littered with these and Griswold stocking knitters.
