Clennan family
« on: Sunday 17 October 04 15:16 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any information on the Clennan family in Ashington.  Jane Clennan was born in 1896 and her mother's name was Susannah.  Have drawn a blank so far so any information would be useful.

Thanks

Sue

Hi Sue

Don't know if this is info. you already know, but according to Freebmd Susannah Clennan married Andrew John Heatley in Sept Qtr 1900 Reg: Castle Ward  Vol 10b Page 523.

They appear to be in Kenton in 1901 Census along with Jane Clennan aged 7 years, place of birth: Kenton.  Susannah's birth place is stated as Dumpling Hall Farm, Nbld and is aged 25 years.

Freebmd only has one birth entry for a Susannah Clennan and that is Dec Qtr 1873 Reg: Chester-le-Street Vol 10a Page 583.  I can't find her on 1881 census via familysearch.

I hope that this info. is of some use to you and good luck in your search!

Hi Janeen

Thanks very much for the information.  The certificate information is useful - hopefully this will be the proof.

Hi There I am looking into Dumpling Hall and I notice Neenie that you mention that Susannah Clennan was born there . Can you point me in the direction of this document please . That mentions the hall , which was actually a farmhouse. Im still not certain of its name origin though . Thank you Simon

Welcome to Rootschat

Please see reply 1 - the document is the 1901 census & reply states birthplace is shown as Dumpling Hall Farm - not Dumpling Hall
