Hi everyone,
I recognised the Peskett surname when this thread reappeared recently.
I have been researching a family in Billingshurst. The 'husband' I have been investigating was found guilty of receiving stolen goods in the 1840's and was transported to Bermuda where he died shortly after landing, as a result of illness that developed as a result of the conditions on the ship. He had made a diary which survived.
There is some correspondence between members of this family and the Peskett family (who were related through the Gosling's) and also correspondence from Puttocks) that is available through the East Sussex Record Office. I have to admit I'm researching on a budget

but if anybody is able to obtain copies of any of the correspondence I would be very interested to find out more

).
If you would like to know the name of the original family I have been investigating please send me a private message.
- Penny
