Does the will mention his age?

As his cousin as mentioned , I presume Alexander had no wife?

Any idea when he emigrated to Jamaica?

1)    No age on Will
2)   6 cousins mentioned in Will, David in the list above
is living & working in Jamacia a Cooper by trade.
3)  Yes he has a wife Ann, I think she is his 2nd wife,
he mentions his daughter then his wifes daughter.
4)  He died about 1800/01 he made some money
so he must have been there few years.

Hi
I am researching the Shirras/ Shirreffs family in the North East and came across this marriage entry which may help.

Saturday last were privately contracted in order to marriage David Shirras wright and Jane Lunan. Cautioner James Shirras maltster and John Lunan glazier. Paid for the benefit of the poor £6.

Hope it helps.

Hi

I have an Elizabeth Sheriffs 1757/61-1841/51 that married a William Milne c1786. Don't know much about her but I believe the name Shirras comes into it somewhere as well.

Regards

Gemma

I am related to James Sheriffs b. 1752 who was married to Jane Lunan m. 1790. I have sketch  of a Rev W A Lunan who was a minister in Pinehill Kincardine d. 1769 aged 66. James Sheriffs was my great x4 grandfather and I am descended from their daughter Jane who married Alexander Cadenhead. I would like more information about the Lunans and how Jane and the Rev are related.

Hello Andy4x4. This is the information i have on the Sheriffs side of the family.
                      Jane Shirrefs marries Alexander Cadenhead
Jane's parents are
Rev Dr James Shirrefs & Amelia Morison
now Rev Dr James Shirrefs parents are
David Shirrefs & Jane Lunan   (father John Lunan)

So Rev W A Lunan could be brother to John Lunan & Rev David Lunan.
there is a Lunan family tree on the web somewhere, will let you know
when I find it.

Hello Jim. I believe we have corresponded in the past. I just thought I would check with you on this item. Have you seen the book on google titled "Family record of the name of Dingwall Fordyce in Aberdeenshire"? This book has information on James Shirrefs, Jane/Jean Lunan and some of the other related family members. Mentions William Shirrefs and his son James who married Christina Blair, their son Alexander who married 3 times. With second wife Agnes Ferrier he had son David who was married to Jean/Jane Lunan. Again, you may already have this information but just in case not, thought I would pass along this source.
