I have used the fee trial a couple of times, you have to give your credit card details so they can bill you when the time is up if you wish to continue. I have always cancelled by e-mail which I have sent a couple of days before the due date and had no problems at all. They don't send any reminders though, you have to watch the clock!
There were a few people on here a few weeks ago, however, who had some problems with cancelling.
I also chose times when I was on holiday so I could get as much use from it as possible in the two weeks.
Steph.
I have done the same Karen, but I didn't know you could do it more than once! Having said that, I prepared the ground very thoroughly before I signed up - I looked up as much information as was available first just from the indexes, so that I was fairly sure I knew what I was looking for and didn't waste time once my fortnight started ticking away!
I also made a note at the beginning, of the exact information which they want when you cancel, so that there wouldn't be any problems when I did. There weren't!
I have also had one quarter's subscription (when 1851 first came online) but I notice that the quarterly option doesn't seem to be available any more. I didn't get any reminders about that expiring either (though this doesn't seem to happen to everyone), but it's best if you have your own system to make sure you know when you need to tell them if you don't want to get billed again.
Their small print when you sign up, makes it quite clear that they don't need to ask you again before doing so, it's up to you to cancel if you don't want the subscription to continue.
Hoping this is helpful.
Cheers Veron
