Hi Trish,

Qld. BDM's is becoming a big pain.  Most of my rellies arrived in Qld from about 1864 onwards from Ireland, England and Germany, and most came to Queensland.  Would be so handy to have them On Line.  Especially now the overseas rellies are looking for us too.  Maybe we coud get a moderator to put some pressure on them to put it on line, so they could make even more millions, or send a petition or something.  They obviously don't know what they are missing out on.  I would even volunteer to do some transcribing.

Cheers for now Dale

Before I applied for the certificate, I had a query so I sent BDM an email enquiry.  I got an email back from a lady named Jeanette.  She was very informative and very helpful.

I sent an email to BDM for Jeanette's attention on 25 April asking if my request had been received/how long it would take and I got a reply on 27th April advising that she was going to post it air mail to me the following day!  She really is an extremely helpful lady, now I'm excited - should be here this week ??!! Hope so!! Karen

Hi Karen,

Thankyou for your thoughts re dad, but he got to 88 yrs and 1 day so that's not a bad innings, and lots of good things have come out of a sad situation.  ie reconnection with family members who I have not seen or heard of from between 20 -45 yrs, one of whom is my cousin living here in Brisbane.  My child hood playmate, and we are swapping genealogy info.

I have just been sitting here (before I got on line,(composing in my head how to send EMail to Attorney General imploring him to get our Qld BDM's on line as well as getting my problem fixed.  After all we are supposed to be the smart state!!!!, also to congratulate Jeanette on her stirling work.

Think I might do a RC poll and ask everyone to vote Yes to send to the Atorney General.  Even if they are interested in Qld.  Unless anyone else has any bright ideas.  And lets face it, our overseas rellies are looking for us too.

Got a bee in my bonnet about this now :) ;D.  Time for some action.

Cheers for now Dale

Good for you Dale......

Here in Ireland, we have nothing online... which I'm not surprised about!! ::) and frankly, I don't think anyone cares, which is sad....

I'd say you'd get a lot of support if you did a poll..... Best of luck with it, I'll keep my eye open for it.... go for it!!

Kind regards, Karen

Hi Karen,

I have Irish rellies too, but have not even started to delve into them.  Thankfully I have made contact with my Cousin Ivy (our gt grandparents were brother and sister), so she has been a great source of information.  She has been searching for several years to my several months, and has got back to 1813 in County Cork (paternal side and to Dublin about 1815 on the maternal side.  That was such a lovely feeling to get all that info.  I have also posted a few posts on a couple of Aus/German sites and had a really good response.  Really need to stay off RC for a couple of months to get my tree sorted, but I'm enjoying it so much.

You think I might be addicted ???

Anyway I'll get this off to you.   Hope you are keeping well and good luck with your searches.  As you can see I'm always free for a "have a chat".  Catch up soon Bye Dale.

Hi Karen

Sounds wonderful to me - we shall all make a note of your contact's name  ;D  ;D

I have heard (not sure where) that the software used by NSW online was to be offered to other states ... I keep hoping.

Trish
