My great grandfather Thomas Lloyd indicated on Census returns that his birthplace was Worcester and on his mariage certificate that his father was Thomas Henry Lloyd, a coachman.
I can find no convincing evidence of a Thomas Lloyd matching this profile or of a Thomas Henry Lloyd working as a coacman in Worcester in the 1851 census. My searches of the parish records in Worcester have also proved fruitless. My great grandfather worked in Lytham Lancashire as a coachman in the 1880s before moving to London in the 1890s. After becoming blind in about 1900, he returned to Lytham and earned a meagre living operating a tea round that he had been set up with by a local charity , the Buffs. I was told that he had worked for a General Fielding somewhere near Blackburn during the 1870s. Any help in tracing his parents or birthplace would be much appreciated.
