So far , I have been pretty lucky at finding people on 1841 - but there are 2 still missing.

I have thought laterally/used soundex/ tried writing the name and looking at possible mistranscriptions - but still cant find James Sutton - aged 2 born in Southwark - so it is back to the drawing board. If the moved north of the Thames, maybe it is just my luck that they are in one of the missing areas!! :(

Re-reading previous posts have just had a thought - James's middle name was Thomas, so was his fathers - so will try James Thomas!!

Back to Ancestry......

Wow at last!

Mind you they kept that quiet, I ticked a box sometime ago to have an email sent to me when they go online!!   Kerry

Me too!

Pity they've missed a whole chunk of the Cambs/Norfolk border off their 1841 transcription :(  - as they've also done with the 1851.

I know my lot are there as I have the Cambs. FHS transcriptions.

As expected, I can't find any of mine.  :'(  The 1841 would have been the answer to all my problems - well, for that year anyway ;D

Kimi, keep on looking and don't give up.  Have a look at previous posts on this topic and you will probably get some ideas and don't forget to ask for help, which I should have done two days ago  ;)

Thanks Wheeldon,

I'm still looking now.  I must admit, they were very elusive, but I'll keep trying.

Have now nailed the missing 10 yr old George Jackson, visiting what I believe are aunt's parents, the Oliver's in Brand Side Derbyshire.

It's weird, I still haven't mailed his uncles marriage to the Olver's, I know who I think his Uncle is, I just can't prove it.

I've struck another stroke of luck!  I found my Thomas Smith in Leeds on the 1841 (although his son doesn't seem to be on there) but his wife had died and he had remarried.  There were several possible marriages of a Thomas Smith to a Hannah.  I just went onto FamilySearch.org and found his wife's death in April 1837.  There are 2 possible marriages, both in March 1838 and there's only 22 pages between those.  Now I'll have to either rule one of them out somehow (hopefully I find the other couple living with the mother in law or something) or order one and hope for the best.

Well I found my Sarah Ann Goodrick with both her parents - I knew her mother was Eliza but her father had died before 1851.

and what was the father's christian name I hear you ask:

C R    ::)

Fortunately Eliza had her name in full, 'cos Sarah Ann was S A.

Helen

p.s. fairly sure it was Charles Reuben ;)
