Hunter, what will our future genealogists do if you didn't fill out the form?  Sure, the government has tax information, as long as you file, but there is no way from you tax info that they would know what your ethinic orgin was.

][/color]I agree about that, this is why I said I didn't understand why 2 of my aunts checked no to having their  information released after 90 years, why should they care if they are going to be long dead anyway. I just didn't realize that we could be forced into filling out information like that.
so far Burse, Burs, Buss, Hunter, Campbell, Jackson, Lupton, Griffett, Bloom, and Dewyk or D'wyk.

BD, I wonder if there is someway you could contact Stats Canada to advise them for the lady?  Surely they would take that into consideration.

I have just spoken to the building manager today. He says she went back to Lebanon for vacation. She may well be stuck there due to the war. :(

Anyway I gave him the census office phone number & the reference # - explained that she is liable for a $500 fine if she doesnt call them, and he said he would call them immediately. He's on the phone right now!!!  :)

I asked him to call because he has all her info - I know her first name but not her last name - he has all that info. Plus he speaks French & I dont. :)

Oh, the poor gal...Cyber hugs, BD for looking out for her...Now its another
worry to know she may be stuck in Labanon...I am sure she'd have taken the
place of any one of those who got safe passage out and didn't enjoy the ride...
(oops, probably far too controversial...leaving it in anyway...) J.J.  :-X

Just spoke to the Building Manager again. I'm afraid the news is not good.
Yes she is stuck in Lebanon, but she is also very sick and not speaking. She may have suffered a stroke. Living through a war is very stressful.

Manager does not know if she will be returning to the apartment. He is in contact with her family in Lebanon.

He left a message on the Census office voicemail. They need to call him back.
