Hi
I have the 1851 census for a family member that gives the address as Back Hut Preston Quarter, by 1861 & '71 the address is 6 Ginns Preston Quarter. Anyone know where Back Hut was.
Thanks Karina

Is is not "Back Row? Three rows of houses, Back, Middle and Front Rows.

Hi Karina,
If you give the name of the family member I'll try and look it up. It could be as Geoff says, Back Row, but there was also a place called Hut Bank and they are both in Preston Quarter. Ginns is in the same area too.

Are the words any more distinct on the previous/next page? It sometimes helps.

Hi Karina,
I think from the clip it is Back Street, which was also in the Ginns area, but without any other information it is difficult to be certain.

Hi.
Thanks everyone for the interest. I had another look at the 61 census and there the address is
6 back **** Ginns. On this census the word does look more like street. So I think I will settle for Back Street Ginns.
Thanks again
