HARGREAVES & CRUMP Burials - MOLD
« on: Tuesday 18 April 06 20:01 BST (UK) »
Dear All,

I'm not sure if anyone can help with this, but you may be able to point me in the right direction.

I am looking for the burial places of William Dewhurst Hargreaves
and his family.
Mary HARGREAVES, Eliza HARGREAVES - his 2 wives.
James, William, Tereza (who married), Susannah, Albert Dewhurst Hargreaves,
Annie (who married William Beriah CRUMP), Edward and Anthony. (They were all his children).

on the 1901 census, William D Hargreaves was aged 80yrs living
at Hill farm, MOLD with His daughter Annie and her son Hargreaves CRUMP.

I have travelled to Mold today to try and locate their M.I's but found nothing at St. Mary's nor at the the Gas Lane Cemetery.

Does anyone know if the M.I's have been transcribed for any other churches/burial places or should I be looking somewhere else for them?

Many thansk for reading - Debbie

Hello Debbie.

The only burial I could find in Mold is that of Anthony Hargreaves Jan 9 1856 11 Months old. Fron Yew.

William Dewhurst Hargreaves death is on North Wales BMD
Dec Q 1907 Holywell, age 86.

I did find the marriages of William Dewhurst Hargreaves and Mary Hughes, William Beriah Crump and Annie Hargreaves and the baptisms of five of William and Mary's Sons.
I can send them to you if you do not have them already.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

THANK YOU so much for the look-ups... Yes please - I would love any
information you have on this lineage.

I think Anthony (11 mnths) is related to the line I'm looking
for as there weren't that many Hargreaves in that area at that time.

I also believe that Mary Hughes died (or they divorced ) as William
Dewhurst Hargreaves re-married a lady called Eliza (from Flint) and I'm trying
to piece together which child belonged to which mother.

Look forward to hearing from you - kind regards - debbie

Hello Debbie,
Have a look at William Dewhurst and Eliza on the 1881 census. I think John Ames, Farm Servant, age 61, born Bodfari is Eliza's Brother!

Hi Paul

Thank you so much for the information. At the moment I have 8 children
born to W.D Hargreaves.

W.D Hargreaves was the son of Anthony & Susannah (nee Dewhurst)
Hargreaves who remained in Yorkshire for most of their lives then moved to West Derby.

I believe (though have been unable to back this up with evidence) that
John Hughes Hargreaves (B abt 1850) and Edward Hargreaves (b abt 1851) are the sons of W.D and Mary Hughes and the other 6 are by his 2nd wife
Eliza (no maiden name for her as yet).

I have encountered  "AMES" whilst searching and from memory is used as
a middle name for a grandchild of W.D Hargreaves so you could be right about him being related to Eliza. Peter Ames rings a bell too though I can't find any paperwork on him in my file!

My trip to Mold was to try and locate a grave which may yield a little
more evidence/information but family history isn't always that easy is it ?

I really appreciate your help and the trouble you've gone to for me.

Kind regards - Debbie
