Hello again,

Out of interest, if you knew that so many children were born up until 1923, why did you look for their father's death among the First World War casualties?

Perhaps it's a stupid question, but I am a bit curious.

You can order certificates direct from GRO online at

www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

You will need the reference you have got from FreeBMD.

or try Nuneaton Register Office direct

Riversley Park, Coton Road, Nuneaton, CV11 5HA tel: 02476 348941

The reference will not be relevant to the local office but if you know the quarter and year and the names they should be able to find it for you.

Hope this helps.

I see his name is George T Wileman on FreeBMD. Might help narrow down the search  ;)

It's for the marriage you quoted  ;D (if we are talking about the same marriage, of course: bride named Salisbury)

Jason! Do you mean you don't even have your grandfather's birth cert   :o ::)  :P

Do you know when Addy died so that we can at least check whether her name was Adelaide?
