Re; Thomas Allen how did you gain this information in the first place? from a relative maybe they confused the two children.
I didnt know the baby,s name was Francis til i went on this site.my mother in law never spoke about it only to say she was orphaned and the family split up, her dad either re-married or lived with some one else, younger sisters placed in orphanages.

Surely if no remains were ever found he would be missing presumed killed and after 7 years a death cert would be issued, can you not obtain this, or cant you find any record of his death?

Hi Sharon and Tony

You can get a full list of the 2677 civilian war dead in Liverpool from the CWGC site by selecting Cemetery rather than Casualty. If your search for “Liverpool”, on the second page is Liverpool County Borough cemetery where all the war dead were buried.

It is in surname sequence rather than date, but if you do go through them all you could cut and paste them into a spreadsheet and then sort by date of death.

Hi Sharon
with the big Lennon family feud that took place in the late 1930s all the Lennon family seemed to have disintegrated. :( We're talking of seven known siblings of my dad's mum. I've been in contact with several long lost second cousins who's elderly parents seem to have very disjointed information and who sadly weren't aware of the existence of cousins, uncles and aunties until very recently.

Anyway , to move this on further, I'll check through the BMD index to see if I can find anything more on the Allen family.

Thanks again Sharon. Don't work too hard tonight. :)
Tony

Thanks for that additional info. Ken - I'll look into that too.
