Hi Anna,

I think the Kendal Records Office would have these details.

It is a lovely old Church and is definitely worth a visit for any one connected with that area.

I did manage to pop in last week but the graves I am interested are very worn (sandstone does that unfortunately).
You are right though it is a gorgeous village and a beautiful church.

Hi Anna,
Just been looking at your other postings  and see you 'pop' into the kendal records office so may live close  - have you asked them if they have the records as I would be interested to know where they are if they have not.
I love the picture of your lady.

Hi Judy

I am living in Scotland so I am hoping that someone might pop into Kendal for me. I have just spent some time in Carlisle with my family doing some research but Kendal just wasnt doable although we did manage to visit Morland one morning.

If I find out Ill let you know

My lady is my granny, May Read and she was an actress. I love this picture of her too although she is in her working clothes here.

Hi Janet,
I think Anna and I are chasing the same morland family so I would be very interested too.  The family is Simpsons.  I found a couple of Simpson headstones when I was there but nowhere near the amount there should be - as Anna said, so difficult to read.
Best wishes,
Jackie

Hi Jackie & Anna  :)

The Morland Parish records are on line at

www.cumberlandarchives.co.uk/

if this link doesn't work just use your search engine to find Cumberland Archives. The registers are baps, marriages and burials from 1538 to 1742.

On the film I have I can go from 1742 to 1901 but it will be a great help if you can give me an idea of the time frame you are looking for as it is very time consuming to go through 150 years of sometimes not very easy to read entries. I will do my best this week but the LDS centre closes from Dec 11 to the end of Jan which is summer school holidays here is OZ so you might be waiting a little while. :(

Cheers
Janet  ;)
