RE:  horses_4_me_4eva  Margaret Barclay and Peter Erskine

I just happened to be glancing at the messages on the forum and noticed
your enquiry.  As I happened to have a few Erskines and at least one Barclay
in my Ancestry, I thought I would take a look.  I did not find their exact mention
in with my Ancestry so I used some of the sources I used to find others.

On Familysearch.org [Latter Day Saints or Mormon Geneaology Records - as they are the largest in the world and probably the first one]
I found one mention of their marriage date.

Margaret Barclay and Peter Erskine
married 04 JANUARY 1838
PORTMOAK, KINROSS, SCOTLAND

I hope this helps. Your search would be helped along if you knew who her father was
as with most of the geneaolgy that I have found in all my searches, it is the first born or succeeding male line that is recorded.

Much Success to you. -- Search4me..

Hi Jot,
I would be grateful if you could look up the Monumental Inscriptions for the family (Sime/Syme) in Monimal graveyard Fife.

Hi Diddy,
I am trying to trace a James Sime/Syme. My 2Xs gt grandfather was John Sime/Syme he was born in Letham Fife according to the 1851 census and according to his Death Certificate his father was James Sime/Syme and his mother`s 1st name was Elizabeth MS unknown. John died in Stirlingshire in 1868, aged 59 born in 1809/10. I take it that John`s parents were buried near Letham.
Kind regards,

#Sholto

wonder whether this death from SP is yours?

James Sim, ploughman, married. died 27/6/1857 , age 73  (1774) both parents deceased (no names)  buried in Monimail.

Hi Diddy,
I am sure this James Sim, Ploughman, more than fits the bill, born in (1774) married, and died in 1857 aged 73, married say when he was 20 1794? my 2Xs gt grandfather born in Letham in 1809/10 would fit into his family nicely.
Thanks for these lookups, I am very grateful.
