Lib there are no MI's for brand in Ceres but the Fife burial index has 41 brands in ceres.
think these might be yours

James Brand 5/6/1735 s/o james Brand (gardener) ceres, st Annes well

James Brand 9/10/1775  ceres St Annes Well
think this must be the father mentioned above because of place.

there are 4 other James brand
20/5/1766 child s/o james.  smallpox Ceres, barony of Teasses

3/7/1770 ceres, Hall teasses

14/5/1805  ceres, craigrothie

9/8/1839 age 2 scarlet fever. ceres, baldwiny

other family not there. only names wrong dates.

Ostler, thank you so much for replying.  The Betts of Kettle of particular interest are George Bett born around 1750, his wife Jean Scott Bett, Thomas Bett born 1778 and his wife Mary Thomson Bett born same year.  Also Janet Bett  b1775.  I would be v v grateful for anything you have for me.  Many thanks

Kind regards

Karen

Hi Karen, there are only 3 Betts in kettle on the FCD. not your names. there are 192 Betts all over.
can't tie any others to your dates as ages not always given.

Hi Karen I have a Margaret Bett/Beatt born probably c1780, not sure where exactly, and probably died before 1855. She married William Malcolm in 1798. Ring any bells?
