Hi Diddy,

Thank you ever so much for your quick reply. Your answer could maybe help me solve a family mystery. My Husband's gr gr grandfather was born in Shanghai China and was living with Jane Trail and Robert Barclay's daughter in 1881. (They were listed as grandchildren)

Jane Trail Barclay did marry a James  Murray so  George must have been her  son.  On the one certificate I have for the Ryder's they state there Mother was Emily Gill and Father Frederick Ryder, so I am wondering if Frederick Ryder died and George Murray married the widow Emily( hope this makes sense and that's how Jane Trail Barclay is listed as there Grandmother.

I know Robert's death is in 1955 as I have his death certificate but did not have date of death for his second wife Jane Trail. His first wife is Margaret Duncan and I think she died C1815.

Thank you again, I will see what I can find on Capt George Murray.
Dawn

Hi Diddy,

Was wondering if there is any mention of Emily Gill or Frederick Ryder in your MI's.

Kind regards,
Dawn

Thanks

Hi diddy,

Are you able to find me Alexander Harley, died between 1842 and 1855, probably in Monimail or the surrounding area (Moonzie, Cupar etc).

Also James Muir/Elspeth Anderson of the same area, probably died a little earlier.

Cheers
