Hi Dan
I wonder if you might be able to help next time you're in the Mass. archives, please?
My Bailey ancestors are from the Galtees area of Ireland, parish of Kilbehenny co.Limerick, and Ballyporeen, co.Tipperary; as nearest large market town is Mitchelstown, they sometimes gave that as the address.
Several emigrated to Rockland, Mass, which I have info on, but my grandfather, Patrick Joseph Bailey went over and returned after a few years.
He possibly went to Brockton initially, before going to live in Manhattan, New York.
Are there any street directories which can be easily searched for Brockton, please?
He was born in 1897, and was definitely living in Manhattan at the 1930 census, and had married Margaret Mary Moher in New York in 1927 (she was from the same area as him, they went over separately it seems to find work, but knew each other before they emigrated).
So I guess he may have been in Brockton about 1925, or slightly earlier. Is there any way of tracking him down relatively easily, do you think? I don't know his year of leaving Ireland even. His Bailey cousins may have been in Brockton in the mid 1920's too.

Many thanks for any advice.

Hi Dan -

If your offer still stands could you lookup the following two deaths.

1) James Adam in Cambridge, Ma. He was born 1866 in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada and then to the US possibly around 1897. He died sometime after the 1910 census but before the 1920 census.

2) His daughter Daisy born in Canada circa 1889 or 1890. She died sometime between 1900 and 1910 in believe in Cambridge.

Thanks in advance.

This really is a long shot.
I noticed  you're researching the Linehan and Brennan names...co-incidently I am also researching both.
I have a John Linehan/Lenahan/Lenahan a Concert Promoter partnering my Gt Gt grandmother Annie Louise Pool/Dowler.
Annie was born 1871 in Birmingham England she was a musician, was married in 1889 to Frederick Dowler, they had a child Bessie Mina born 1887. Frederick disappears and sometime after 1891 Annie  partners John (I don't know if they married)
Thomas Brennan from Kilkenny Ireland and his variety act work with John Linehan and poss Thomas manages the concert company.
Bessie Mina by then a concert singer and Thomas married in 1907 Co Cavan Ireland, they had their own travelling concert company. Annie Louise died in Birmingham 1914 and is buried as Annie L Linehan. Does this ring any bells with you. Regards Jackie.
Brennan. Harden. McElhinney, Towhey, Lovely- Towhey, Loval Towhey. Pattingale, Bentley. Scott. Pool.
Kilkenny, Dublin, Co. Donegal. England. Berwick on Tweed. Birmingham. Manchester America, New York, Oregan.
