1841 census lookup - Matthews
« on: Tuesday 11 April 06 20:26 BST (UK) »
I am looking for James Matthews whose wife, Jemima, died in 1829. At the time of her death, they were living in Hemington parish. I don't know whether he remarried. He and Jemima had a daughter, Jane, b. 1827.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Alison,

It's difficult to figure. The first one he would almost seem too young and the second one almost too old, unless his age in the first one was rounded down, then it would fit. Then, again, he may have been deceased by the time of the 1841 census and his wife, Nancy, was head of household. Unfortunately, I don't have enough details about James to venture any certainty. However, I'll try to find out whether he remarried and to whom and possibly his death date. I think doing so will help clear up the matter.

I really appreciate all your help on this one.

Regards,
Jim
