Thank you Karen - I know her husband was called Percy so that eliminates the local weddings that I could find! The only other likley ones are both Ethel Wood marrying someone with Christian name of Percy - but both in Yorkshire! I have posted on the Yorkshire boards but no reply as yet!
I also checked 1837 online last night from 1886-1891 for a marriage for sarah henning - but no joy -driving me crazy!!!!!

The two local ones in weymouth and sherborne were 1918 for Ethel wood. My husband's family are quite close but it is odd that my husband's generation had nothing to do with the siblings of his grandfather, the Wood family. My husband;s grandfather was Tom wood - brother of Ethel Wood and several other siblings yet he and his sister do not remember ever meeting any of their grandfather's family - so it is possible that the family scattered a bit round the country. His grandmother's family stayed rooted in Dorset so that is relatively easy!
Maybe I could put out a general request on the Dorset board for the siblings and see what turns up!
Watch this space!
