Hi
If you look on
http://www.failteromhat.com/post1845.php
enter the surname and do 'search all', you will see that there were a fair number in co. Kerry and Co. Cork especially; seems to be the south west of Ireland predominantly.
Cheers,
Mags

Do you mean Galvin/Gallivan??
This may have changed to Glavin at the port of arrival due to mis-spelling
I have a good bit of info on Galvin family tree of Castleisland/Currow area of Co.Kerry

Hiya Jean,
Griffiths Valuation of Ireland 1848 - 64
shows Counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford as being the areas
where you'd have found the greatest number of Glavins. There were a few in one or two other counties.
Chris.
